On 15th October Sandwell Council undertook their first ever e-Auction which was for the provision of Home to School Transport. It consisted of 34 Home to School Transport Routes split into 2 e-Auction sessions of 17 Routes each.

E-auctions were invented not by procurement people but by their I.T. colleagues. They were originally intended for the bulk buying of low-value, frequently purchased, commodity items such as office stationery, widgets and component parts. Some clients are now using them to drive down the price of marketing fees and costs.

Even though the economy has begun to pick itself back up again, the struggle for survival continues for many businesses, large and small.
